BAN ON FOSSIL FUELS

VERY IMPORTANT

Dear Brothers and sisters.

We all need to address this most vitally important issue that our Representatives in New York State will be voting on in the next few days.

The Governor’s budget calls for the complete ban on all fossil fuels in New York State by 2024.  This cannot be feasibly possible considering most of our energy comes from these sources.  We all know climate change is real.  But we need to transition our change of energy responsibly.  Solar and Wind are our new sources, but a small percentage.  80% of our membership rely on Natural Gas, Propane and Oil just to heat our homes.  This would leave most of Long Island to figure out a way of heating and cooking and relying on electric just to live.

You cannot just hit a switch and turn over to electric appliances and energy without a smooth transition for all involved.  Timing is very important, please take 2 minutes of your time and reach out to your State Senators and Assembly persons and tell them to please take the language on electrification out of the budget and table it for now.  If it remains in the budget, I as a constituent of yours would want you to vote this budget down.
